The labels are a silent protest against the ongoing administrative handling of peaceful protesters on the Columbia University campus. By putting up these labels, we are defending our rights to free speech and academic freedom in our institution.

We condemn the imbalance of power between individual voices and the university (which represents this very abstract conglomerate of administration, donors, and people who work anonymously in the school's office job). This label is a leakage of that voice, an artist's voice to shout out the freedom of expression. We hope that this label could be a visual proof for our resistance towards the unjust violence that arrests and suspends different voices. As well as the ongoing violence and injustices against the Palestinian people, people of minority and marginalized communities. We are also in support with our fellow peers, in that Columbia University needs to fully divest and sever all ties with with entities funding Israeli apartheid and genocide to ensure transparency and institutional accountability.

With these labels, we call for the audience to reflect on the reason why Columbia University, as an educational institution, exists.

In solidarity with the peaceful protesters.
